Rosa Cerruto is an Italian
illustrator and architect living and working in The Netherlands.
She studied architecture at the University of Venice, IUAV and the
UdG University of Girona, Spain. Rosa specialized as an illustrator
at the International School of Illustration Sàrmede, Treviso, and
her works have been featured in several exhibitions in Italy and
in The Netherlands.
Rosa works as an illustrator and collaborates as an cartoonist with
the Italian on-line daily newspaper Corriere di Ragusa, the printed
newspaper Il Clandestino and with the Italian independent Publisher
Villaggio Maori Edizioni. Rosa works as a freelance architect and
collaborates with Terrafirma landscape architecture in Amsterdam.
Recently Rosa started to collaborate with the film production companies
Armadillo Film and ZO[O]DAT Film and has started to work on her
first short animation movie.
The work of Rosa ranges from
hardcopy magazines, advertisements, editorials to digital media
like on-line newspapers and websites. Rosa combines both various
traditional and digital techniques in her work.
She gets inpired by small daily life details and cartoons of Jean-Jacques
Sempé, Bas van der Schot and Angel Boligán Corbo but also from animation
films, biking through cities and enjoying a good glass of wine.
